Nice build! I wonder if he knows the rat that's tried to rob my trap these last two years?

Not too far-fetched at all. And by doing something from LOTR you just about guaranteed my vote

Chests! x) Well done 👍
Yup! I think that's a total of about 30 over the course of 3 builds here

For this final round of Rogue Olympics, I decided to build the consequences of being unfocused. This build shows a car crashing into a tree because the driver was not focused. The airbag went off, the front crumpled, and smoke is rising from the hood. Since it is from the driver's perspective, the scene is also not focused, and rather blurry, adding another use of the word to the build.
Hopefully you like it... I very rarely build cars and I didn't have much time this week, but I managed this much. And of course, the chests are back-- I managed to use another 15 here
(no flickr link since I didn't post this one)
In case you are curious, here is a look behind the scenes at how I set it up:

This gave me a good laugh this afternoon! I especially like yoda and the cyclops/alien, even before reading the stories

Built for Round 7 of Rogue Olympics 2024 with the theme "Chaos."
This theme made me think of a tornado, tearing up everything in its way and creating mass chaos. In this build it tears through a small farm, destroying the farmhouse and leaving only a foundation, ripping up grass and uprooting trees, breaking a fence, and even sucking up cattle.
I had a lot of fun with this tiny build, and ended under the piece limit so could probably have added more, but the tornado was hard enough to balance as is and I'm about out of time for this weekCheck it out here on Flickr: Tornado!

Is this just asking me to post a picture of my desk and crop it so you can only see 101 of the pieces laying around?
-
Will you post the top 10 from each round, or not until the end?

Yeah, me too. My mind wasn't really empty but only ideas that wouldn't be realizable came to it. Till yesterday night. So I started building today but don't have much time this weekend since my daughter has her tenth birthday. Hopefully I manage to finish the building and take some pictures till Sunday evening
This was the first week my mind actually wasn't empty- I thought of this right away But it's a problem I've faced numerous other weeks
-
That's really cool, 58 pieces for nothing but emptiness.
Yeah, my first thought was to use 0 pieces and set a new record for the least pieces ever used, but I decided to actually build something.
I don't really have time this week so the total build, photograph, edit, and submit time was like 45 min
-
My Mind is Empty but I built something anyway...
-
Everyone knows the feeling... the prompt comes out and you have no ideas what to build...
The week goes by and still no ideas...
Then it is almost the deadline and you are frantically trying to build something.
This is me almost every week So this week I decided to built that feeling of an empty mind. At first I was going to submit a plain white image and say I used a record-setting 0 pieces, but decided to throw together an actual build.
And here are the pieces:
58 pieces
Hopefully you aren't having this feeling this week!

Nice work! I actually considered doing something similar (I didn't do it though)
-
WOW!!! Even better than the 1st one!

And the chests are back! Really efficient use of parts and space with those "clouds".
It isn't the first time, and it won't be the last time you see the chests I'm thinking about trying to incorporate them into every build from now on, but we'll just have to see....
Since I've already seen tires turned inside out in earlier rounds, I suspect that the cotton wool comes from some LEGO plushies turned inside out as well
I suppose that argument can be made if the background has to count as a piece too , but no plushies were harmed in the making of this build I could have done LEGO clouds but took the lazy route instead

Built for round 5 of Rogue Olympics with the theme "Uplift" using 80 pieces. At the end of LOTR Gandalf comes with the Eagles to "uplift" Frodo and Sam-- both physically lifting them into the sky and also mentally uplifting their spirits.
Also yet another build where I experimented with the treasure chest pieces, this time using 8.
And yes Tolkien nerds... technically it should be Gandalf the White, but this is all I had.You can also find it here on Flickr: The Eagles are Coming!
Also here is a behind the scenes look at how it was built
And of course the pieces:
