    RogueOlympics 2025



    Dear Rogues,

    Do you feel it too?
    The pleasant breeze,
    the singing of the geese,
    the milder temperatures.
    The first buds are sprouting,
    blossoms enchant our walk and
    after dreary days and low temperatures
    the feeling in our fingertips finally returns.
    But one swallow does not make a summer.
    It is not yet time to go out, oh no!
    There are still important rituals to perform,
    great battles to fight and
    high mountains to climb,
    before you set foot outside again.

    Once again, it is time for the contest in which each and every brick must be what a verse is to a poem, because you are not allowed to use more than 101 of them:
    The RogueOlympics are back - who will conquer Olympus this year?



    In order to be the first to climb the Olympus this year, in addition to a well-sorted collection, you will certainly need creativity, suitable ideas and a great presentation!
    The overarching theme for this contest is, like last year, "Rogue! - Think. Build. Repeat."

    To live up to this slogan, the tasks will be truly challenging.
    And of course, each and every Rogue is allowed to participate in the RogueOlympics.



    The format has stayed the same:You'll build over the course of 8 rounds that last 7 days each (Monday until the following Sunday).As a result this contest will last for 8 weeks in total.

    Just like last year you can build for each and every round or just pick the ones
    that fit your preferences best and skip rounds.
    With each entry, you will earn additional points and after the last round,
    the Rogue with the most points wins.Voting happens continually throughout the contest, in parallel with the next round.

    The main challenge and catch is the well-known element limit that the RogueOlympics impose:
    Per round you are allowed to use a maximum of 101 elements.
    You can do it with less? Be our guest!



    Of course, there will also be prizes for the best competitors!

    The main prize to be taken home by the winner is the fantastic 10362 French Café.
    Our second prize is the mezmerizing 31161 Medieval Dragon.
    Our third prize is the super cool 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth.

    The prizes for the remaining best scoring candidates are no less appealing and will definitely brighten your day!



    If you are using a minifigure as a whole, it will count as 4 elements (legs, torso, head and headgear).
    If you are using only a single hand, then said hand will count as a single element.
    If you are using a base for your entry it will count towards the 101 element limit.

    This also means that in addition to your main photo, you will have to submit a picture that proves
    that you have stuck to the 101 element limit. You can of course share that using a 'spoiler' tag.
    For your comfort, here and here are printable grid sheets for all your parts!

    Per round you can enter a single model.

    The themes are set but very open and you can interpret them in any way you choose,
    as long as your entry fits the theme and uses a maximum of 101 elements.

    The exact briefs will be announced on the first day of the respective round.
    As always the RogueBricks Standard Contest Rules are in effect: No gluing, no welding, no custom materials.
    Have a look at the ruleset before you embark on your RogueOlympics journey. ;)



    Casting of Votes

    Attention! We have made the following changes to the voting process:

    1) Contestants are no longer allowed to vote for their own submissions.
    We reserve the right to enforce this technically in the future and
    will not count such votes until then.

    2) We will publish the top 3 contestants after each completed voting round.


    Each Rogue that has been a member before the current round of voting, is eligible to cast five votes per round.
    These can be distributed amongst all the entries for the given round, EXCEPT for THEIR OWN entries!

    The points will be allocated in reverse order.
    That means: If 10 Rogues enter the first round, the winner will receive 10 points, with the entry on the last place receiving 1 point.

    Much like last year, we will be using an automated document for the vote.
    This year, we will bring back a frequently requested weekly evaluation of the voting.
    The three entries with the highest scores will be announced after each voting!

     As every year, we will do our best to send out your prizes in a timely manner.
    However, those of you who have been with us for a while know that we are all busy people who take some time to keep up with the logistics.
    So please be patient with the shipping.

    We hope that we can inspire each and every one of you for our RogueOlympics contest and look forward to seeing your ideas for the upcoming themes!
    The announcement of the first theme and the start of the RogueOlympics will be on March 8th 2025.
    So there's still a few days left to sort your collection :)

    Liebe Rogues,

    Spürt ihr es auch?
     Die gefällige Brise,
     das Singen der Gänse,
     die milderen Temperaturen.
     Es sprießen die ersten Knospen,
     Blüten verzaubern uns den Spaziergang und
     nach tristen Tagen und tiefen Temperaturen
     kehrt endlich das Fingerspitzengefühl in uns zurück.
     Doch macht eine Schwalbe noch keinen Sommer.
     Noch ist es nicht Zeit, hinaus zu gehen, oh nein!
     Es sind noch wichtige Rituale zu vollführen,
     große Kämpfe zu kämpfen und
     hohe Berge zu erklimmen,
     ehe ihr wieder einen Fuß vor die Tür setzt.

    Es ist wieder einmal Zeit für den Contest, bei dem jeder verbaute Stein wie ein Vers ins Gedicht passt, denn nicht mehr als 101 Steine dürft ihr verbauen:
    Die RogueOlympics sind zurück – wer wird in diesem Jahr den Olympus bezwingen?



    Um dieses Jahr als Erster auf den Olymp zu steigen, sind neben der gut vorsortierten Sammlung sicherKreativität, passende Ideen und eine gute Präsentation nötig.
    Das überspannende Thema für diesen Contest ist wie schon im letzten Jahr: "Rogue! - Think. Build. Repeat."

    Um diesem Motto entsprechend gerecht zu werden, sind die spannenden Aufgaben eine echte Herausforderung.
    Natürlich darf wieder jeder Rogue an den RogueOlympics teilnehmen.



    Am Ablauf hat sich bis auf die Themen im Grunde nichts verändert:Gebaut wird in insgesamt 8 Runden, die jeweils 7 Tage (Montag bis einschließlich Sonntag) dauern werden.Ergo dauert der Contest insgesamt 8 Wochen.

    Wie schon im letzten Jahr könnt ihr für jede Runde bauen oder auch nur die passenden Themen heraussuchen und Runden aussetzen.
    Mit jedem Beitrag steigt eure Punktzahl und nach der letzten Abstimmung gewinnt der Rogue
    mit den meisten Stimmen.Während dieser Abstimmungsrunden läuft der Contest weiter.

    Neben den Themen ist die Begrenzung der Steine eine echte Herausforderung:
    In jeder Runde dürfen nämlich nur maximal 101 Steine verbaut werden.
    Weniger Steine sind natürlich möglich.



    Natürlich wird es wieder Preise für die besten Beiträge geben!

    Der Hauptgewinn ist dieses Mal das fantastische 10362 Französisches Café.
    Als zweiten Preis vergeben wir die faszinierende 31161 Grüner Drache.
    An dritter Stelle folgt das supercoole Set 77037 Aloy und Varl vs. Panzerwanderer und Sägezahn.

    Die übrigen Preise für die weiteren Platzierungen können sich ebenfalls sehen lassen und lassen niemanden traurig zurück!Bunchu's Creative Animal Adventures


    Verbaut ihr eine Minifig als (ganze) Figur, so zählt diese als 4 Teile (Beine, Oberkörper, Kopf und Kopfbedeckung).
    Verbaut ihr nur eine Hand einer Minifig, dann zählt diese Hand als ein Bauteil.
    Verbaut ihr eine Base, so müsst ihr diese zu den 101 Teilen zählen.

    Das bedeutet auch, dass ihr zu eurem Modellfoto noch ein weiteres Foto einreichen müsst, als Beweis,
    dass ihr nur maximal 101 Teile verbaut habt. Dies gerne in einem "Spoiler". Für euren Komfort ist mit dieser und dieser Vorlage gesorgt.

    Ihr dürft in jeder Runde nur ein Modell einreichen.

    Die Themen sind zwar fest, aber sehr offen gehalten und ihr könnt alles hinein interpretieren,
    solange es zum Thema passt und ihr nur maximal 101 Teile nutzt.

    Die genauen Aufgaben werden euch am ersten Tag der jeweiligen neuen Runde verraten.
    Es gelten die RogueBricks-Standardregeln für Contests. Kein kleben, schweißen oder Custom-Material.
    Schaut euch die Regeln also vorher noch einmal gut an. ;)



    Der Abstimmungsmodus

    Achtung! Wir haben folgende Änderungen am Voting vorgenommen:

    1) Die eigenen Beiträge dürfen nicht mehr von den Einreichenden gevotet werden.
    Wir behalten es uns vor, dies zukünftig technisch durchzusetzen und
    werden bis dahin entsprechende Stimmen nicht zählen.

    2) Wir werden nach jedem abgeschlossenen Voting die Top 3 Beiträge veröffentlichen.


    Jeder Rogue, der jeweils vor der Abstimmungsrunde ein Rogue war, darf abstimmen und erhält fünf Stimmen in jeder Runde.
    Diese dürfen auf die Modelle der abgeschlossenen Runde verteilt werden, jedoch NICHT auf das EIGENE!.

    Die Punkte werden in umgekehrter Platzierung verteilt.
    Heißt: Nehmen 10 Rogues an der ersten Runde teil, bekommt der Sieger 10 Punkte, der Beitrag auf dem 10. Platz bekommt einen Punkt.

    Nach erfolgreicher Erprobung nutzen wir erneut ein automatisiertes Dokument zur Stimmabgabe.
    Wir werden in diesem Jahr eine wöchentliche Auswertung der Stimmen im Anschluss an die Abstimmung vornehmen und die besten 3 Beiträge bekanntgeben.

    Wie jedes Jahr werden wir uns bemühen, eure Preise zeitnah zu versenden.
    Wer schon länger dabei ist, weiß aber auch, dass wir alle wuselige Menschen sind, die nicht immer mit der Logistik hinterherkommen.
    Habt daher bitte Geduld mit dem Versand.

     Wir hoffen, dass wir jeden Einzelnen von euch für unseren RogueOlympics-Contest begeistern können und freuen uns auf eure Umsetzungen in der kommenden Themen!

    Die Bekanntgabe des ersten Themas und damit der Start der RogueOlympics erfolgt am 08.03.2025.

    Haha Erster! Ja geil! Neues Jahr, neues Glück. Lieben Dank, dass ihr es wieder organisiert!! Aaaaber: ich bin zwecks Elternzeit mir Kind und Kegel auf mehrmonatiger Radtour durch Südeuropa (schreibe dies von einem Zeltplatz irgendwo in Portugal) und werde wohl schwer teilnehmen können. Aaber: ich habe mir ein kleines Beutelchen Steine mitgebracht und wenn irgendwie Zeit ist und ich mit den Steinen was passendes bauen kann ,versuch ich teilzunehmen^^ Frohes Bauen und möge der beste Kletternde der Olymp bezwingen!

    Schade dass so was festgelegt werden muss, finde es selbstverständig dass man sich selbst nicht wählt. Bissl traurig wer dass nicht versteht, finde es aber gut dass ihr das jetzt technisch eingerichtet habt und freue mich auf die kommende Wochen (mal sehen ob als Teilnehemr oder nur Zuschauer).

    Bin momentan auch anderweitig stark eingespannt und weiß nicht, ob ich die Zeit hätte frei machen können. So ist mir die Entscheidung wenigstens abgenommen worden ;)

    Can I have a bit more clarification on what counts as a part? For many parts it is obvious, such as pretty much anything listed as a part by Bricklink.

    However, people in past rounds have used things such as packaging and gear (E.g. the container which Dan Ko used and the helmet Woomy World used in round 2). I love applications like this, but I am curious how broadly I can interpret parts. For example, would it be allowed to use the cardboard box from a set? The plastic or paper bags? The instruction manual? Stickers (uncut) are allowed, but could someone use the emptied sticker sheet or backing paper?

    Are there any general guidelines that I should keep in mind beyond what is mentioned in the Standard Contest Rules?

    I don't make the rules, but I'd say all of these are fine. In fact I think we've seen them all already at some point. I for myself have already used a LEGO plastic bag and IKEA Bygglek boxes and I think I've seen people use instructions, too. We've already seen plush toys this and the previous years as well as LEGO clothing items and empty set boxes.

    I don't think things are all too strict and especially during the Rogue Olympics I would say the important part is the fun and creativity in all of it. Let's say you build a food item. You could actually put that on a real plate or in a real bowl and not actually count that as a part and I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. But put it in a PaB cup and do count that as a part and you got a cool story to tell. :) Or you got a build that tends to be a bit wobbly. You could put that up against a non-LEGO machinist block behind the scenes and noone would even know or worry. Or you can actually support it with a 9V speed regulator and everyone would wonder what is going on with your parts list. ;)

    I've always believed if the item came in something produced by Lego, then it's fair game - at least that's how I determine what makes it into my part collection ^^. Stickers, plushes, screws, metal rings, circuit boards, packaging, etc... are all fair game in my opinion.
